Michele Gumabao finishes at top 15, gets special awards at Miss Globe 2018
MANILA, Philippines — Volleyball star Michele Gumabao finished at the top 15 of the Miss Globe 2018 held in Albania on Monday.
The former De La Salle Lady Spiker also won two special awards, Miss Dream Girl and Miss Social Media, after she received 30 percent of the total online votes.
China’s Yu Yizhou was crowned Miss Globe 2018, while Miss Australia is the first runner-up, Miss Turkey is second runner-up, and Italy gets third runner-up.
On her Instagram account, Michele said she learned a lot from the competition and will go home with a huge smile on her face.
“I've learned a lot being here for 2 weeks! Ive always known that in life there are wins and there are losses, but God knows what's best for us. I trust in Him to take me further,” she wrote.
“I gave my best and I know it was good enough because I had the whole Philippines believing in me! At the end of the day, it is what it is BLUE FOR PEACE I'm coming home!!! Volleyball naman ang labanan,” she added.
Michele currently plays for the Creamline Cool Smashers at the Premier Volleyball League.
