WATCH: Catriona Gray gives send-off messages for Michele Gumabao, Eva Patalinjug
MANILA, Philippines — Despite being pitted against volleyball star Michele Gumabao during the Binibining Pilipinas 2018 coronation night, Miss Universe Philippines 2018 Catriona Gray said she and Michele have gotten to know each other very well during their journey to the crown.
In fact, according to Catriona, Michele has become her closest “buddy” among her pageant batch mates because they were given numbers next to each other.
“And we were roomies also!” Catriona revealed.
“And Eva, being this statuesque, very queenly woman who would always be so approachable, always smiling to everyone who would go up to you and just have a conversation. We have seen your strength and different facets and hard work,” she told Eva.
“May you continue to excel in your endeavors as well as in other beauty pageants. You are exceptional women. We, I’ve been blessed to see you blossom and grow and we get to call each other sisters,” Catriona told Michele and Eva during their send-offs for the international pageants they are about to face.
Michele is the Philippines’ representative to the Miss Globe 2018 beauty pageant in Albania in October 21, while Eva will vie for the country’s first Miss Grand International crown in Myanmar next month. — Video by Philstar.com/Erwin Cagadas Jr.
