WATCH: Karla Estrada on KathNiel’s relationship admission, wedding plans

MANILA, Philippines — What can actor Daniel Padilla’s mom, actress and TV host Karla Estrada, say about her eldest son’s public admission of his real-life relationship with love team partner Kathryn Bernardo?

In an interview with Philstar.com following the launch of Danarra Aromatherapy Oil, Karla said that she is happy her son has come forward with the relationship.

“Ako, I’m happy kasi lahat naman ng desisyon nila napag-usapan naman nila ni Kathryn ‘yun saka right age naman na. Kumbaga, kahit papano, maganda nila dinala, hindi masyadong abrupt, ‘yung swabe kung baga,” she enthused.

All she ever wants for KathNiel, she said, is for them to be always in good terms.

“Happy naman ako. Ang pinaka-importante sa’kin ‘yung maging maayos lang sila parati.”

When asked when she found out about the relationship, she said: “Ako kasi ang anak ko lalaki, hindi ‘yun naman talaga mapa-kwento. Kung baga, ‘pag tinatanong ko, awkward. But you know, as a mother, you know na parang merong something special. Hanggang doon lang ako pwede manghimasok. Kasi ‘pag lalaki ang anak mo, kailangan mo talaga bigyan ‘yun ng responsibility na matuto s’yang magsabi, matuto s’ya magdesisyon.”

She is also cool with Daniel already talking about marrying and having a family with Kathryn.

“Okay din naman napag-uusapan. ‘Di rin naman kasi maganda ‘yung isang relasyon na parang wala kayong plano. Kung walang plano ang isang magka-relasyon, eh ‘di ‘wag kayo magsama at all. ‘Wag kayo magsama at ‘wag kayo magmahalan, ‘di ba?”

She believes the two are already in the right age to talk about marriage and family. “S’yempre kung minor, hindi pwede… Pinag-uusapan lang naman ‘yun. Wala pa naman yatang plano or something.”
