Kris Aquino to attend ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ premiere, showcase Philippine designs in red carpet

MANILA, Philippines — Queen of all media Kris Aquino on Friday flew to Los Angeles, California for the movie premiere of the Warner Bros. film “Crazy Rich Asians,” which she is part of.

Aquino announced her attendance after suffering an allergy attack in Indonesia last week.

Due to this, Aquino said she already assured her sister that she will be accompanied by her sons, Bimby and Josh, as well as her “very caring and trust-worthy doctor.”

“Maraming kaibigan na Fil-Am in the medical field sa LA; and ang pinaka importante for me, this was my 1 chance to represent our country & showcase Philippine designs proudly made in the [Philippines] for a Hollywood red carpet event,” Aquino wrote in an Instagram post.

“I hoped they’d understand that if @crazyrichasians would be the last movie listed in my acting credits, their baby sister was given the best finale to something she dreamed of since she could talk & passionately loved for 31 years starting w/ @motherlilym’s “Mother Studio Presents” on @gmanetwork in 1987- BECAUSE in 2018 she was portraying a PRINCESS in a grand @wbpicturesproduction,” she added.

Aquino shared that despite having several endorsement commitments and lifestyle streaming programs, portraying any full length roles “seems unlikely” in the forseeable future because of the limitations that her current state of health imposes.

On Sunday, Aquino shared an exclusive first look of her scene with Constance Wu, the lead star of "Crazy Rich Asians." 

She shared that her yellow gown was created by world-renowned Michael Cinco.

“Crazy Rich Asians” will be shown in Philippine cinemas on August 22.
