Sophia Senoron: Elmo Magalona still belongs to Janella Salvador

MANILA, Philippines — Miss Multinational 2017 Sophia Senoron, who has been cast as Elmo Magalona’s love team partner in the “barkada” flick “Walwal,” assured fans of Elmo and Janella Salvador’s love team, ElNella, that she is not going to be the third wheel between the two.

“We all know that Elmo has a permanent love team, which is Janella. Pero since Janella also has a temporary love team, I’ll also be with Elmo. Just also under Regal Films,” Senoron told Philstar.com in an interview following the recent launch of Wetbrush’s collaboration with Miss World Philippines.

Showing on June 27, “Walwal” is Senoron’s debut film that also stars Magalona, Donny Pangilinan, Kiko Estrada, Jerome Ponce, Devon Seron, Jane de Leon and Kisses Delavin. The youth-oriented film is directed by Joey Reyes, who also hand-picked the cast, including Senoron.

In recent Twitter and Instagram posts and interviews, Elmo and Janella explained that at first, they were hesitant to work with different love teams. The rumored real-life lovers, however, assured their fans that their separation in projects is just temporary.

Janella is currently paired with Jameson Blake in the romance-comedy "So Connected." During the film’s recent premiere night, Elmo showed his support for Janella, saying how proud he is of the rumored girlfriend.

In a recent interview with Boy Abunda, Janella affirmed that her bond with Elmo is so strong, that they are inseparable even if they are not working together.

ElNella debuted as a love team in 2016 for the primetime series “Born For You.” They went on to star in “Wansapanataym” series and a “Maalaala Mo Kaya” episode. They also made the films “Bloody Crayons” in 2017, and “My Fairy Tale Love Story" in 2018.
