Mocha replies to Kris Aquino’s viral video
MANILA, Philippines — In the afternoon of June 6, Presidential Communications Group Assistant Secretary for Social Media Esther Margaux "Mocha" Uson has posted a response to multimedia personality Kris Aquino’s viral video that challenges Mocha to a face-off.
The short, 23-second video posted on the Facebook page Mocha Uson Blog shows Mocha inside a moving vehicle.
“Ito po ang aking response sa live video ni Ms. Kris Aquino,” Mocha began.
“This is not about Kris Aquino. Tungkol ito sa paglagay ng malisya sa isang halik. Itinumbas lang sa gawain ng ibang lider tulad ng tatay n’ya. Miss Aquino, this is not about you.”
The video has been captioned “My response to Ma’am Kris Aquino.”
In the video, Mocha offered neither an apology nor an acceptance of Aquino’s challenge for a duel or debate.
On June 5, Kris posted an almost 18-minute video captioned with “#LabanKris” to share how deeply hurt she was by Mocha’s June 4 video comparing Pres. Rodrigo Duterte’s recent controversial kiss with an overseas Filipino worker in Korea to that of the kisses Kris’s father, the late Sen. Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr., received from fans before he was assassinated on August 21, 1983.
In the video, Kris challenged Mocha for a live debate or to recreate a scene from one of Mocha’s movies, “Four Sisters and a Wedding,” where Uson can be seen fighting with the movie’s stars by Angel Locsin, Bea Alonzo, Toni Gonzaga and Shaina Magdayao.
“Matagal kong tiniis na ‘wag s’yang pangalanan pero ngayon pinapapangalanan ko na si Asec Mocha Uson. Sobra ka na eh. Yung ginawa mo, ang mga sinaktan mo mahal na mahal ko. And ganito na lang ha. Deretsahan na. Babae sa babae. Gusto mo ng kaaway? Ako. I’m ready. Anytime, anywhere, harapan… Wala akong uurungan at di kita uurungan!” Kris said.
