WATCH: Director Antoinette Jadaone breaks silence on JaDine’s professionalism issue

MANILA, Philippines — Filmmakers and real-life couple Antoinette Jadaone and Dan Villegas were accused by netizens for backstabbing celebrity couple Nadine Lustre and James Reid, following director Cathy Garcia-Molina’s controversial tweet to a JaDine fan that insinuate JaDine's unprofessionalism.

In response to this, Jadaone explained her side during the recent launch of her new ABS-CBN soap opera, “Since I Found You.”

“‘Di naman nang bonggang bongga kasi ang ginawa ko n’ung lumabas ‘yun, kinausap ko agad si Nadine. ‘Yun ‘yung first instinct ko,” Jadaone told reporters when asked if she was affected by Direk Cathy’s tweet.

It can be recalled that a JaDine fan tweeted Garcia-Molina, saying: “Sana po direk sa huling movie mo, sana Jadine ang kunin nyo, magaling po at napaka-professional.”

Direk Cathy’s reply angered the love team’s fans: “Iha, talaga ba? Iba kasi ang naririnig ko galing mismo kay direk Dan at direk Tonet. Sorry.”

According to Jadaone, she and Nadine already spoke about the tweet and both of them affirmed that their working relationship is alright.

“Para sa’kin as long as okay kayo, ‘yun ‘yon,” Direk Tonet said.

She admitted that she had work issues with JaDine, but they have sat down on it and resolved the issues early on.

Nadine once posted a cryptic message about getting sick in the set of a movie, which according to reports was directed by Jadaone. Nadine’s frequent absences allegedly caused the delay of the movie’s tapings.

Jadaone admitted that she pressured the love team to work faster to be able to release their movie, “Never Not Love You,” in time for the March 31 play date.

She thinks Direk Cathy’s tweet was about this now-resolved misunderstanding.

“Close naman po kami kay Direk Cathy. Actually, si Direk Cathy, mas close s’ya kay Dan kasi mentor s’ya ni Dan,” Direk Tonet said.

For her, JaDine’s alleged professionalism problem with other directors can be due to lack of open communication.

“Kahit ako, ‘di pwedeng pupunta tayo ng London, mag-shoshoot tayo nang may problema,” she said.

She assured that JaDine has apologized to her for whatever misunderstanding they had, and they all pledged to be open and honest to each other ever since. — Video by Deni Bernardo, editing by Kat Leandicho
