‘I’m not bothered by intrigues!’

Body Talk with David Licauco, the new Regal Baby

Not many newcomers are as lucky as David Licauco, the guy with smiling eyes on the Bench billboards, wearing printed boxers, bare from the waist up like the two other guys (Kiko Estrada and Albie Casiño), all set to go surfing.

Being health-conscious, David didn’t have to resort to drastic workout before the shoot.

“I take good care of my body,” he claimed.

Besides being a Bench eye candy, David has the good fortune of playing the lead in his launching movie, Regal Films’ Because I Love You, directed by Joel Lamangan, with Shaira dela Cruz as leading lady. “I play Rael, a sophisticated and well-educated young man who falls in love with Summer (Shaira), a poor girl.”

Intended for a June release when classes open, Because I Love You is David’s second showbiz break, following the GMA adventure series Mulawin in which he played Malik (“A small role”), a few weeks after he signed up as the newest Regal Baby.

“I wasn’t really into acting,” admitted David who belongs to Arnold Vegafria’s stable of ALV talents.

“Before the shoot for Because I Love You, I attended an acting workshop under Anne Villegas. That’s when I realized that I love acting, something that I could do for a long time.”

David finished high school at Grace Christian College and a Business Management course (major in Computer Applications) at the College of St. Benilde. His grandmother is a native of Tabaco City, Albay, who studied secondary school at the Tabaco Pei Ching School, the same school where your Funfarer also studied. 

Like most newcomers, David is slowly going through the “initiation” — you know, gossip about his personal life. 

Asked if he’s ready for the intrigues, David smiled, his eyes disappearing into slits, “Hmmmm...yes, I don’t really care as long as I know what’s true and I know myself better. At the end of the day, it is just work.”

A Gemini (June 15, 1996), David stands 5’11”; weighs 160 lbs.; and wears medium-sized shirt and briefs, and size-11 shoes.

What’s your regular diet?

“Low carbs, high protein and high fat diet.”

What’s usually for breakfast, for lunch and for dinner? 

“For breakfast, six scrambled white-egg omelet and peanut butter sandwich. I’m addicted to peanut butter, hahahaha!!!

“For lunch, any high-protein food I can get such as chicken or beef and I pair it with some veggies. For dinner, same as lunch.”

And snacks?

“Nuts.”

How much water do you take per day?

“Ten glasses.”

What about vitamins or supplements?

“Euphoriamaxx Bcaa, creatine and vitamin C.”

What workout do you do?

“I lift weights in the morning and then I play basketball or I box at night.”

Any part of your body that needs improvement?

“None.”

What part of your body is most vulnerable?

“My heart, hahahaha!!!”

And what part is your favorite?

“My abs.”

What part of a girl’s body you notice first?

“Her face.”

What kind of girls turns you off?

“Loud girls.”

How much sleep do you get per night?

“Seven hours.”

Last thing that you do before you go to sleep?

“Check my celfone.”

First thing that you do as soon as you wake up?

“Eat.”

Favorite sleepwear?

“Jersey shorts and sando.”

Do you ever sleep in the nude?

“Nope.”

“Four.”

How’s your nightlife?

“It has lessened already since I started showbiz.”

How’s your love life (do you have a girlfriend)?

“No girlfriend.”

How’s your sex life?

“No girlfriend so…zero! Hahahaha!!!”

When did you lose your innocence?

“When I was 17.”

To an older woman, younger woman or a girl your age?

“To a girl my age.”

How do you cope with stress?

“I play basketball and meditate.”

Favorite city?

“Melbourne.”

Favorite hideaway?

“The gym.”

Name three women that you think have nice bodies.

“Alexandra Daddario, Nadine Lustre and Solenn Heussaff.”

And three men that you think have bodies as nice as yours.

“Zac Efron, Russell Westbrook and Michael B. Jordan.”

Using only body language, how would you make a woman  know that you admire her?

“I would talk to her through my eyes.”
