Filipino beauty queens modeled for New York Fashion Week

MANILA, Philippines – Two Filipina pageant title holders joined the list of beauty queens who walked the runway at New York Fashion Week 2017.

Former Miss Universe first runner-up Janine Tugonon and Miss World Philippines 2014 Valerie Weigmann were featured in separate fashion shows.

Tugonon, who is now a professional model, joined the Fall-Winter ‘17 fashion shows of Malan Breton and Denibi. On the other hand, Weigmann was showcased in Ane Amour’s “Daughters of Artemis” show.

After her stint, Weigmann was seen touring New York with her friend and fellow pageant title holder, Miss World Philippines 2016 Catriona Gray.

Besides Tugonon and Weigmann, other beauty queens such as Miss Universe 2016 Iris Mittenaere, Miss USA 2016 Deshauna Barber, and Miss Universe 2015 first runner-up Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez were also part of New York Fashion Week.

The prestigious fashion event started last February 9 and ran until February 15 (US time).
