Bretman Rock, Venus Raj to host Miss Universe red carpet special

MANILA, Philippines — Social media personality Bretman Rock and 2010 Miss Universe fourth runner-up Venus Raj will host the Miss Universe red carpet special on January 30.

Rock will serve as the host of the Miss Universe red carpet while Raj will join him as digital correspondent. This was announced by the Miss Universe Organization on its official website.

The Miss Universe Organization described 18-year-old Rock as not just a social media personality with over 10 million followers across his social media platforms but also a beauty guru teaching make-up skills through his viral tutorials. He is Ilocano and has been living in Hawaii since he was seven years old.

On the other hand, beauty pageant titleholder turned actress, model and TV host Raj is a Bicolana. She represented the Philippines in the 2010 Miss Universe pageant in Las Vegas, Nevada where she placed fourth runner-up.

Rock said he cried when he saw his photo posted by Miss Universe and also announced his inclusion in the pool of hosts through Instagram.

The red carpet special will be shown hours before the competition.

Meanwhile, 2015 Miss Universe host Steve Harvey will make a comeback as the host of the coronation night. He will be joined by backstage host Ashley Graham who also joined Miss USA 2016.

The Miss Universe competition will be held at the Mall of Asia Arena on January 30 at 8 a.m. (Manila time).
