Animation summit for industry experts and students slated

MANILA, Philippines – Love Animation, Love Pinoy: Animation Jam 2016, a summit for creative industry experts and students, aims to gather, involve, encourage and spark friendly cooperation via lectures and competitions.

The three-day congress, to be held on May 27 and 28, and June 4, will focus on topics such as story proposals, product promotion and film showings. Participants will convene as teams will produce a motion picture within the three-day period.

On the first day, Jim Fernandez, a Filipino comic book artist famed for the comic book character Zuma, will talk about pitching stories.

The following day will have Tito Romero as keynote speaker. He is an animation teacher at the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde and will discuss strategies in marketing and selling their work.

Judges for the contest include Romero, known for his work with Dayo: Sa Mundo ng Elementalia; Ayeen Pineda, co-founder of Tuldok Animation Studios, Inc.; and Grace Dimaranan, managing director, trainer, creative director and producer of Top Peg Animation & Creative Studio, Inc.
