Character actor Julio Diaz in critical condition, receives help from co-stars

MANILA, Philippines – Friends and celebrities extended help to veteran actor Julio Diaz in his fight to prevent brain aneurysm.

The veteran actor was reportedly brought to St. Luke’s Medical Center in Global City Taguig after he collapsed at their house in Bulacan last Saturday.

The Actors Guild extended help through a campaign called “Four for Julio,” by which all 250 members voluntarily donate P4,000 each.

The family also appeals for help through bank deposit or a fund raising project on website.

“Wala pong namimilit pero kung meron okay din, prayers are really strong,” said Mike Datuin, Diaz's nephew, in an interview aired in ABS-CBN news program “TV Patrol” on Monday.

Several personalities from the entertainment and film industries also extended assistance such as Coco Martin, Jaclyn Jose, Director Dante Mendoza, Mario De los Reyes, Cherry Pie Picache, Edi Estrella, Robin Pandilla and Gran Rebillesa.

Once he recovers, the family also wishes to give Diaz a chance to work again in the industry, believing that he has a lot of more to share. - Vanessa Bernardo
