MANILA, Philippines – Rayver Cruz welcomes 2016 thru a dance album.

The Kapamilya actor who was tagged the "dance floor heartthrob" now showcases his singing talent through his album “What You Want.”

“Actually nagsimula ‘to no’ng magkakasama kami over dinner kaming magkakaibbigan. Si Dom, kaibigan ko, si Sam [Milby], of course si Kuya Erickson ng Cornerstone,” Rayver recalled when asked how the idea of having an album started, in an interview on Thursday.

So naisip ko oo nga, bakit nga ba hindi,” he added.

Having an album is one of Ravyver’s dreams, but was not able to focus in it since he has always loved dancing.

Gusto ko gawin ‘yong both,” he said.

The Kapamilya actor has Justine Timberlake and Chris Brown as musical influences. Locally, he looks up to Gary Valenciano, which is the reason he chose to cover one of his songs, “Hataw Na.”

Rayver’s album contains eight tracks. Aside from Gary V.’s “Hataw Na,” he will also cover the song “Kasayaw” by Archie D. R&B Prince Jay-R also collaborated with him in two songs, while Academy of Rock Singapore wrote a song for him which fits his love for dancing and singing.

The album is targeted to be launched in March.
