Luis Manzano ‘hopeful’ Angel Locsin can still play Darna

MANILA, Philippines – Luis Manzano is “hopeful” that his girlfriend Angel Locsin can still star in the Star Cinema's Darna movie project.

In October, Angel had to pull out of the film due to a disc bulge on her spinal column.

“She’s studying a lot of options and she has one or two in mind. I think we just have to wait and see kung anong mangyayari sa operation,” Luis said about Angel’s health condition in an interview aired on ABS-CBN's news program “TV Patrol” on Tuesday.

With this, Luis is hopeful that “if management hasn’t started, maybe, maybe there’s a good chance [she’ll do Darna].”

He also thanked the the Kapamilya actress’ fans who showed their support to her despite her sudden decision to let go of the project.

“I’ve seen hashtags saying, ‘We will wait for Angel as Darna.’ That’s not to downplay any artists that we have today, but it goes to show that she did a great job bilang Darna. So thank you all on behalf of Angel,” he said.

Luis and Angel will go on vacation in Las Vegas, but he clarified that they won’t get hitched. They’ll be joined by Luis’ dad Edu Manzano and his siblings in their tour in Cuba and Miami. - Joyce Jimenez
