Cocktails and bar chow in Let’s Eat

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - There’s nothing like night out full of clinks and canapes. Think cocktails and bar chow and you automatically brighten up. Company in smart clothes, light buzz and laughter, nibbles and exchange of niceties in social setting — what’s not to like?

In this week’s episode of Let’s Eat on Lifestyle Channel, hosts Stephanie Zubiri-Crespi and Spanky Enriquez (left) dive into Manila’s sophisticated, sexiest cocktail culture by visiting four bars that open to new worlds of booze. Yes, Manila is on its way to becoming the next cocktail capital of Asia with a toast and sip here, a shake and pour there.

Spanky drops by Long Bar and ABV (Alcohol By Volume). Styled after the original Long Bar at Raffles Singapore where the famous Singapore Sling was created, the Long Bar at Raffles Makati is a warm and lively place to enjoy signature cocktails. ABV in the same city is a late-night resto-bar where you can experience classic cocktails, traditional absinthe culture and a great time.

As for food, Stephanie checks out Spanish open kitchen Rambla in Rockwell. Named after a street in Barcelona, the joint boasts of having the best tapas and other choice picks for the palette.

Steph and Spanky give The Curator a review to remember. Hint: The Curator is obscure but outstanding bar so perfect for secret dates and bro bonding. Let’s drink to that.

Let’s Eat airs Wednesday nights at 8  with replays on Thursdays at 11 a.m. on the same channel.
