LOOK: 6 most tweeted AlDub hashtags

MANILA, Philippines - AlDub breaks their own Twitter record yet again.

#ALDUBMostAwaitedDate, the designated hashtag for the Kalyeserye segment of the Saturday, September 19 episode of GMA-7's "Eat Bulaga," amassed over 12 million tweets in a span of a day.

Yesterday's episode featured Kalyeserye stars Alden Richards and Yaya Dub (played by Maine Mendoza) on their first date. However, the date was cut short and the segment ended on a cliffhanger.

Both Alden and Maine took to Twitter to thank fans for their support.

In comparison, ABS-CBN's noontime show "It's Showtime" amassed more than half a million tweets the same time "Eat Bulaga" reached 11 million tweets.

Saturday's 11 million tweets is a record high for the show, but this isn't the first time the AlDub love team almost broke the internet.
