Sarah keeps it simple

Bot Glorioso - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines -With their unpredictable work schedules, Sarah Geronimo knows too well that it is impossible for her and boyfriend Matteo Guidicelli to be seeing each other all the time. Their bonding moments are limited, too. But it doesn’t worry her at all. And why should she? Obviously, Sarah has learned the art of balancing every aspect of her life — family, love and career.

“If you know how to balance everything, then it’s fine,” said Sarah after an event last Thursday afternoon where she was formally introduced as the latest endorser of San San Cosmetics. “Kung magkita kayo this day (referring to a loved one), tomorrow or for a few days you should spend them naman with your family, importante kasi ’yun.”

For Sarah, having a dinner or movie date with Matteo is enough to turn their “limited time” together into one sweet bonding moment.

The two never had the chance to celebrate Valentine’s Day since they became officially on. This year was supposed to be their second Valentine’s Day, but just like the first, both had prior showbiz commitments to attend to. Sarah, who sits as one of the judges of The Voice of the Philippines, was present in the reality TV’s live airing last Saturday.

“Last year, ganun din pero okey naman nakapag-celebrate naman pero hindi rin yata (Feb.) 14; parang post-Valentine’s palagi.”

Besides, Sarah didn’t expect to receive anything material from her beau on the day of hearts. “For me, the more important Valentine gift is love and understanding.”

The singer-actress also gamely answered — even without much prodding — questions pertaining to their relationship and, uhm, marriage. “Of course, napag-uusapan pero alam naman naming pareho na marami pa kaming kailangang ayusin sa sarili namin bago kami dumating sa ganung punto.”

She, too, cannot exactly tell yet whether or not the tri-athlete actor is the perfect one for her. “It’s too early to tell; we still have so much to go through.”

Asked what inspires her to accomplish everyday goals, Sarah said she often reminds herself that she’s surrounded by people who love her dearly like “my family, my special someone and the people who believe in me.” And that includes her new family in San San Cosmetics.

As the cosmetics brand’s image model, Sarah seems more than happy about it. She prefers to highlight her features by maintaining a casual yet fresh look, which according to her is one way of remaining true to herself.

“Endorsing the brand somehow boosted my self-confidence because I believe that women have a lot of reasons to feel insecure like ako marami akong insecurities but this really helps in making me feel more confident.”

Take it from Sarah who opts for the simple yet beautiful and natural look than wearing heavy make-up.

“I love how the brand encourages women to believe and embrace their natural beauty. It is also important to always look our best because it is one way of loving ourselves,” said Sarah who sometimes does her own make-up. Her must-haves are San San pressed powder, eye-liner, lip gloss and the mulberry two-way cake.

Meanwhile, Sarah confirmed that a movie with Piolo Pascual will push through contrary to earlier reports of its cancellation. Shootings, she added, would probably start right after her stint in The Voice of the Philippines.

But the Popstar Princess was clueless about the possibility of working with Korean star Lee Min Ho in the future. “Boss Vic (del Rosario, her manager) and I haven’t talked about it yet but I hope so, sana, sana.”
