MANILA, Philippines – In its 11th season, it cannot be denied that “Pinoy Big Brother” can still produce buzz-worthy moments.

 

On Sunday, August 23, “Pinoy Big Brother All In” announced its top four contestants who will vie for the contest's top prize: Daniel Matsunaga, Vickie Rushton, Jane Oineza, and Maris Racal. 

 

As the reality show ends its run Sunday evening, August 24, let's take a look at some of the most memorable moments from “Pinoy Big Brother All In.”

 

 

 

Not even more than 24 hours into its premiere episode, “Pinoy Big Brother All In” already became controversial due to its cast of 18 housemates.

 

Netizens criticized the show for the show's contestants for being good-looking, well-off, or having links in showbiz.

 

This, despite the show's main conceit of having regular, teenager, and celebrity housemates in one season

 

For instance, twins Fourth and Fifth Pagotan are siblings of GMA-7 actress Chariz Solomon.

 

Most notably, young actress Jane Oineza, who already starred in a number of ABS-CBN shows, is also part of the competition.

 

Alex Gonzaga was also part of the show as a “house guest” for a few episode.

 

Because of this, the hashtags #PBBScripted, #PBBBawalAngPangitEdition, and #PBBFamousEditionEdition trended on social networking site Twitter.

 

 

 

Jane Oineza was also criticized on social media when she said “no comment” after a fellow housemate said if she thinks ABS-CBN young star Kathryn Bernardo had cosmetic surgery done on her body.

 

After earning the ire of Kathyrn's fans, the “She's Dating the Gangster” actress entered the Pinoy Big Brother house and talked to Jane, who apologized to Kathryn. 

 

“Huwag mo na lang iyon sabihin next time kasi baka ma-misinterpret iyon ng ibang tao... Dapat maging extra careful ka kasi ang daming nanunuod sa iyo. Dapat careful ka kasi since sumali ka dito, parang inopen mo yung sarili mo na i-judge ka. At least na-clear na now,” Kathryn told Jane.

 

It was a report on the Jane-Kathryn issue on the late night talk show “Aquino and Abunda Tonight” that led Kris Aquino to reveal she was waiting for an apology from Quezon City mayor Herbert Bautista following their aborted romance.

 

 

 

A nude challenge prompted the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board to summon the producers of the reality show.

 

In one of its episode, Big Brother asked Jayme Jalandoni and Michelle Gumabao to pose for a nude painting for charity. 

 

“The pressure exerted upon the housemates constitutes moral and psychological violence upon them and may violate their dignity as women,” MTRCB chairman Eugenio Villareal said. 

 

ABS-CBN apologized for the nude painting challenge, which MTRCB described as gender insensitive.

 

 

 

Fifth Pagotan, in one of the show's more emotionally-charged episodes, admitted to a fellow housemate that he is bisexual.

 

“Hindi ako straight. Siguro na lang, bisexual ako,” Fifth told housemate Manolo Pedrosa.

 

The confession led to a number of celebrities expressing their support of the reality show contestant, including ABS-CBN comedian Vice Ganda. 

 

“Biglang bumilis ang tibok ng puso ko ng aminin ni FIFTH na sya'y BISEXUAL. Naapektohan ako. Ang tapang ng batang to. Hangang hanga ako!” Vice said on Twitter.

 

He added, “Wag kang magalala FIFTH hindi ka nagiisa. Maraming tulad mo. Walang dapat ikatakot. Mangunguna nako para suportahan ka! #BeOutAndProud.”

 

 

 

Beauty queen Vickie Rushton's relationship with Jason Abalos faced a trial when the female housemate was linked to fellow contestant Daniel Matsunaga inside the Big Brother house.

 

Vickie was bothered when Jason sent a text message to her via Vice Ganda. The message, the housemate said, seemed “dry” and “negative” because “Wala nang I love you. Wala na kami, ganun.” Vickie was also worried what Jason thought of her closeness with Daniel.

 

But Jason, in an interview with the press, said he did not say “I love you” in the message as he felt it was inappropriate following the devastation the country experienced after typhoon Glenda. 

 

But Jason later entered the Big Brother house to talk to Vickie to patch things up.

 

“Gusto kong mag-sorry. Andami kong na-realize sa labas. Sobra kong nakita kung ano ako, bilang boyfriend mo, sobra kong nakita ikaw bilang girlfriend ko, andami kong pagkukulang. Ito na 'yung simula para makabawi ako sa'yo, kung gusto mo pa,” he told Vickie.
