Markki Stroem gives singing a break to work on a TV show

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Markki Stroem's singing career will have to take the backseat for a while.

Markki is part of the cast of the ABS-CBN fantaserye “Dyesebel,” that stars Anne Curtis, Sam Milby, and Gerald Anderson.

“Actually last January nagkaro'n ako ng plans for my new album called Jazzified,” Markki relates in an interview Thursday afternoon, March 13. “Kasi 'yong past album ko puro originals. 'Yong second album na 'to sabi ko will be more on covers na versions ko.

“Pero ang problema ko, actually good problem siya, nagkaro'n ako ng teleserye, part po ako ng Dyesebel which I think mag-start na next week. So Monday to Saturday ang taping namin, so walang time para makapag-record ako.”

Back to Swimming

Markki's role for the fantaserye is a “sereno,” which means most of his scenes will be shot underwater and that is why he's back to swimming for his role.

“Triathlete po ako dati,” he replied when asked if he has a background on swimming. “So teenage years ko nag-start po ako sa junior elite national team when I was 16, pero nag-start ako sa 12 kasama ang family ko.”

Owing to all of these, he doesn't have time to record his second album. Markki, however,  won't totally  forget his singing career this year as he has an upcoming concert with KZ Tandingan.

The Kapamilya singer-actor says he's excited about the concert. “Sobrang excied ako. Kasi sobrang naginng fan ako ni KZ start pa lang, X Factor pa lang. Pnapanood ko talaga siya, binobto ko siya.”

The concert will be held on May 16, at the Music Museum and is produced by Cornerstone Concerts.
