Long-time Kapuso Bianca King wants to work with 'Big 3'

MANILA, Philippines – “Ang wish ko sa ibang artista, sana masubukan nila makagawa ng shows sa ibang network,” said Bianca King, who signed a program contract with TV5 on Monday, January 13.

A long-time talent of the Kapuso network, Bianca said she sees working with the Kapatid network as a means to spread her wings as an artist. The 28-year-old actress will appear in TV5’s upcoming weekly drama “Obsession” with Marvin Agustin, Martin Escudero, and Neri Naig.

However, this does not mean that Bianca is officially a Kapatid network talent as her contract with TV5 is only good for one show. While Bianca’s contract with GMA-7 has already expired and is currently still "under negotiation," the actress does not want to distance herself from the Kapuso network.

“Mahirap naman sabihin na hindi na ako Kapuso because halos 10 taon din ako andun. Siguro, I’d like to still be associated with both networks. Hindi ko naman tatalikuran yung pagiging Kapuso ko dahil lang lumalabas ako sa TV5,” she told members of the press.

Bianca got her start in showbiz via the hit 2004 fantasy series “Mulawin.” Her breakthrough as a lead actress came in 2011 via the afternoon soap opera “Sinner or Saint.”

“Ako talaga, napaka-open minded ko. At this point talaga, iniisip ko yung stability, fulfillment ko as an artist, so yun yung mga considerations ko,” she said when asked about renewing her contract with GMA-7.

Bianca added: “But in an ideal world, gusto ko pareho; if pwede nga, all three networks.”

The actress hopes her TV5 project will both be beneficial to her and the network.

“I really hope that this show is one of the shows that will catapult TV5 to newer heights,” Bianca said.

She further said: “Lumaki na ako sa GMA, e. And siguro, isa na ako sa mga artist na talagang yung puso ko, puso ng artist. So para sa akin, kung saan may magandang trabaho, saan may magandang role para sa akin, gusto ko talagang subukan.”

“I wanted to reach my full potential as an artist everything. And I want to try everything.”

‘Obsession” will premiere on Thursday, January 23, 8PM on TV5.
