Markki describes working with Robin as ‘interesting experiennce’

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines- Markki Stroem is very excited as the people get to watch his first film, “Slumber Party,” once again as part of Cinema One Originals' list of closing movies this year.

The movie started showing in Cinema One on Tuesday night.

“Excited ako kasi napanood na ng tao last year at nagustuhan naman nila, na-nominate naman ako, hindi naman masagwa acting ko dito. Well, in a sense okay ang actig ppero interesting yung character. So excited ako na makita ng tao yung movie,” he said.

The director and some of the casts attended that night, including Nino Muhlach, Director Emman dela Cruz, Markki Stroem and Archie Alemania. The other lead character RK Bagatsing was not able to attend because he’s in Singapore doing a TV show.

Markki is currently busy doing the film “10,000 Hours,” a 2013 Metro Manila Film Festival entry, where he plays as Robin Padilla's drug addict son.

“Actually interesting yung experience,” Markki described about working with Robin. “Kasi may isang part na umalis siya ng bansa. So akala ng buong family namatay na siya, tapos nang bumalik na si Robin lahat kami may kasalanan sa kanya, so lahat kami umiiyak ng 6 a.m."

“Dumating si Robin at niyakap niya ako—wow! Kasi may energy siya, e, di ko siya tinitignan tapos nang niyakap niya ako lahat [ng emotion] bumuhos.”

Though Markki is not actively seen in TV shows, he’s mostly seen doing films.

“I think the movies helped me a lot,” he relates. “Kasi it made me explore a lot of characters and experience how these characters think and be able to try these to other characters as well.”
