Judy Ann Santos leaving ABS-CBN?

Chuck Smith - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Will Judy Ann Santos no longer be a Kapamilya after her show ends?

In his column on the tabloid Abante-Tonite published Thursday, Judy Ann’s manager Alfie Lorenzo said he ismulling over the possibility of the actress doing projects with rival networks GMA 7 and TV5.

This comes days after it was rumored that Judy Ann’s ongoing show “Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala” will be cancelled in three weeks.

“Eh blessing in disguise pa ang nangyayari ngayon dahil 'pag natapos na ang Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala ay mawawala muna sa ABS-CBN si Juday,” Lorenzo wrote.

“Dahil hindi siya nag-MMK eh sa Magpakailanman siya gagawa,” he added. MMK is ABS-CBN’s drama anthology program “Maalaala Mo Kaya,” while “Magpakailanman” is GMA 7’s weekly drama show.

Lorenzo further wrote: “At wala rin lang movie ang Star Cinema para kay Juday kaya sa TV5 film outfit na Studio 5 gagawa ng movie si Juday!” Star Cinema is ABS-CBN’s film production arm.

‘Unbelievable serye’

Lorenzo used his column to express his dismay towards the fans of Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernado. He said their fans were bashing Judy Ann and her show, claiming “Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala” will be cancelled due to poor ratings.

The Kapamilya love team’s show “Got to Believe” was slated to premiere last July but was shelved. According to Lorenzo, Daniel and Kathryn’s fans are claiming “Got to Believe” will replace the slot Judy Ann’s show will vacate since the latter underperformed.

“Anoh, sigurado kaya sila na papatok ang unbelievable serye na ‘yan?” Lorenzo wrote.

He added: “Mababa ang ratings ng teleserye ni Juday? Tingnan n’yo nga ang mga ratings ng shows ng ABS-CBN at mas mataas pa ang ratings ng Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala kesa sa extended na Be Careful With My Heart, ‘noh?!”

An entertainment website reported that Lorenzo will talk to TV5’s Manny Pangilinan next week.

“Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala” premiered June 17 this year. The show was Judy Ann’s first soap opera in three years.

If reports are true that the show will be cancelled in three weeks, “Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala” will end in 11 weeks, a relatively short run of a primetime soap opera.

To stay or not to stay…

These reports coincide with Judy Ann’s cryptic messages on micro-blogging site Twitter.

Judy Ann isn’t the only big star rumored to be making the big move this year. Marian Rivera is also rumored to be mulling a transfer from GMA 7 to ABS-CBN after her contract with the Kapuso network ends this month.

Just this Tuesday, Ogie Alcasid signed a three-year contract with TV5 after he left GMA 7.
