Ramp Nielsen Uy is Region 8's youngest vice governor

MANILA, Philippines - Congratulations to Ramp ‘Ram’ Nielsen Uy (inset) on his proclamation as vice governor of Northern Samar, my province.

Still a bachelor at 28, Ram is the youngest vice governor in Region 8 (composed of three Samar provinces and three Leyte provinces).

A lawyer, Ram is the middle of the six children of my good friend, Col. Steve Uy and his wife Visitacion ‘Vessie’ Sy.

It’s Ram’s first venture into politics; he ran under the Nacionalista/Lakas-Kampi banner. He plans to pursue projects for the youth and continue the medical/dental mission that he and his team have started.
