Body Talk with Diana Zubiri

FUNFARE - Ricky Lo -
The rumor romantically linking her to Vhong Navarro is old hat, so Diana Zubiri merely shrugs it off.

"Pero may Spider-Man sa buhay ko," she teased, obviously making an allusion to the role Vhong played in Gagamboy (yes, a crawling creature), and left it hanging – and you and me guessing. "Oy, baka magalit ang manager ko, si Kuya Jojo (Gabinete)."

In her latest movie, Seiko Films’ Liberated 2 (currently showing in Metro Manila), Diana and co-star Francine Prieto are cast as sexually-liberated friends who bed every guy they take a fancy on. Diana’s character is Fatima, a young woman who comes from a dysfunctional family.

"The very slight similarity ends there," said Diana. "I come from a broken family which is not really dysfunctional."

Is she as liberated as her character?

"Liberated ako in some sense but not like Fatima na nakikipag-one-night-stand kung kani-kaninong lalaki. I don’t even have a boyfriend now, kaya walang hadlang."

She and her Kuya Jojo have been travelling these past months, starting in December last year. Their last trip was to Tokyo where she and other guest stars shot an episode for GMA 7’s Extra Challenge. She has also gone to Singapore and Bangkok to shoot for FHM magazines in those parts, naming her among The 100 Sexiest Women in the World (the only Filipina to make it to the list).

At 19, Diana stands 5’4", weighs 118 lbs., measures 34-26-36, wears medium-sized tops and large-sized pants, and size 8 shoes. She’s the third actress (after Gretchen Barretto and Francine Prieto) to be featured in Funfare’s broken "Body Talk" series.

How did you get such a beautiful body?

"Not so fat, not so chubby-chubby. If I ever gain weight, konti lang."

What kind of diet do you follow?

"I’m really choosy with food. But do you know what I eat in the morning? Sinigang! Sa umaga ‘yon, ha! Brunch na ‘yon because I wake up late and have breakfast almost near noon. What about nightlife?

"It depends. If I’m invited to an affair, I go but always with a companion. I never go out alone. My manager doesn’t allow me to go out alone."

How do you spend your free time?

"I watch movies, not on DVDs at home but in the moviehouse."

What was the last movie that you’ve seen?

"Ascorbic acid, 1,000 mgs. I was also advised by my doctor to have vaccines (for flu, etc.), that’s why I don’t easily get sick."

Do you apply anything on your face?

"Facial cleanser lang. I get a facial once a month. I wash my face after removing my makeup. You must use a good makeup remover. Otherwise, if your makeup remover is not good, baka masira ang mukha mo."

Are you afraid of staying out in the sun (like some women)?

"Not really. Huwag lang sobrang init... nakakahilo. I easily get dizzy because I’m anemic."

How’s your outlook in life? Are you optimistic or a worrier?

"Wala rin. ‘Yung mga unan ko lang."

Oh, so you’re a pillow person.

"Yeah, I have several pillows. I love collecting pillows. But I sleep only with four of them."

Are you vain like most good-looking women?

"No, I’m not. Ayoko nga ng masyadong nag-aayos, e. But then, dahil artista ako, I have to be well-groomed all the time."

How much time do you spend in front of the mirror?

"Medyo matagal,
especially if I have to dress up for an occasion."

How much time do you spend in the bathroom?

"Thirty minutes."

Do you sleep in the nude?

"Sometimes... during my spare time. I lock myself in the room. I feel liberated that way."

Name three women who have a beautiful body like you.

"Ara Mina. I can’t think of two more. Only Ara."
