Dr. Love

Pregnant and confused

Pilipino Star Ngayon

Dear Dr. Love,

I am a foreigner and I’ve been a long time resident of the Philippines for two years. Twenty one years old na ako at natuto ng Tagalog through the help of my friends. Please hide my identity and just call me Sweet and Lovely, and I’m a Canadian residing here as a student taking up a medical course. Actually both my parents are of Filipino decent but are now Canadians.

I have a boyfriend in Quebec, Canada and we’re still communicating through video calls.

My problem is I am having an affair with a Filipino classmate here in the Philippines and my boyfriend doesn’t know about it. Worst of all is, I am one month pregnant and very confused of my situation. What must I do?

Sweet and Lovely

Dear Sweet and Lovely,

In your situation, no one can help you better but your parents in Canada. I assume that they still possess the Filipino values though they may be Canadian citizens and will be able to give you a sound advice.

They may get angry at first if they learn of your predicament but you got no choice but to tell them. Be that as it may, I’m sure they will not abandon you in such a dismal situation.

It’s also proper that you evaluate your situation and tell your problem to your boyfriend in Canada to be fair to him. In any case, don’t ever decide to get that baby in your tummy aborted to get rid of your problem easily.
