SHAABAA SEASON 25: Asian Orthopedics, Cebu Landmasters, Bad Boys Wingz remain undefeated

CEBU, Philippines —  The Asian Orthopedics 2014, Cebu Landmasters 2003, and Bad Boys Wingz 2007 fashioned out contrasting victories to remain unbeaten in the Sacred Heart Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association (SHAABAA) Season 25 last Tuesday night at the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) Magis Eagles Arena in Barangay Canduman, Mandaue City.

Zach Huang, a mainstay of Cebu Chooks 3x3 squad, sparkled with 29 points, 11 rebounds, two assists and two steals as Batch 2014 escaped past Carampatana Food Corp. 2012 in overtime, 94-92.

Jair Igna pumped in 23 points on top of eight rebounds and four assists while Gio Laguyo chipped in 17 markers and passed out eight assists as Batch 2014 tightened its grip of the solo Division C lead with a immaculate 6-0 record.

Adven Jess Diputado scattered 22 points, six rebounds, four assists and four steals while Julius Cadavis posted 21 points and 13 rebounds but to no avail as Batch 2012 tasted its first loss after a rousing 2-0 start.

In the other Division C duel, Lyder Kent Canieso erupted for 30 points spiked with 13 rebounds as SABR Solutions 2018 downed UNAHCO 2002, 87-81.

Eroll Pastor added 18 points and 10 rebounds while Xavier Tarriman finished with 14 and 11 rebounds in Batch 2018’s first victory.

In Division B, Daryle Tan and Wilmer Rodney Ong fired 20 points apiece as the Cebu Landmasters stretched its hot steak to five games in a row with an 87-60 shellacking of Batch 2006, while Leigh Christian Dixon delivered another amazing performance of 22 points, 27 rebounds, five assists, six steals and three blocks as the Bad Boys Wingz outclassed Batch 2004, 74-71, to extend its perfect run to 3-0.

Tan and Ong also connived for 17 rebounds, seven assists and six steals for Batch 2003.

Aaron John de los Reyes and Christian Pepito conspired for 27 points while Karl de Pio contributed 11 points, 13 rebounds, two assists and four steals for Batch 2003.

Christopher John Consunji collected 27 points, 10 rebounds, two assists and four steals while Franco Te bulldozed 25 points and 15 rebounds but their efforts proved futile as Batch 2004 suffered its third setback in four games. — EBV
