Bornfree posts record win in Amicis Basketbal League

CEBU, Philippines —  Bornfree topped the list of opening day winners in the 30-above division of the Amicis Basketball League (ABL) Season 2 at the Consolacion covered court.

Michael Hoyohoy banged in 35 points, nine rebounds and five assists to power Bornfree to a 154-125 thrashing of Top Gun in what is by far the highest score in a single game in ABL history. Their 279 points total is also a league record.

 Hoyohoy drew huge support from Kristoffer Cabajes and Angelito Nexie with 57 combined points.

Andre Robin paced Top Gun with 40 points while Kent Juban and Kier Semilla cashed in 27 and 22 points, respectively, in a losing effort.

In the other games, Harold Javier scattered 31 points, nine rebounds and three assists as the Amigos gunned down the Legendary squad, 92-78, while Andales Anajao tallied 22 markers on top of three assists to vault the 032 Kicks by Miller to a 94-83 drubbing of YYBC.

Raniel Capangpangan and Joseph Bill Pepito also made their presence felt for the Amigos after combining for 28 points.

Ditto with Bryan Sagarino and Elwin Abrenica who connived for 30 points for 032 Kicks.

Not to be outdone, Louie Malagar unloaded 22 points, six rebounds and four assists to help RCBC Gamsi crush the Los Amigos, 100-78.

Malagar was backed up by Nino Pilapil and Nikko Chaves who tallied 25 points in between them. — EBV
