CVFA, Kaya FC-Iloilo clash for Visayas crown today

CEBU, Philippines — In an exciting battle of unbeaten teams, host Central Visayas Football Association (CVFA) and Kaya FC-Iloilo will clash for the Visayas leg title of the 2022 Philippine Football Federation (PFF) Under 19 Boys National Championships today at the Cebu City Sports Center.

Game time is set at 10 am.

The winner will advance to the National Finals later this year in Mindanao with no confirmed venue.

CVFA and Kaya FC representing Western Visayas both sport a clean 2-0 records going into the pivotal game.

After beating East Visayas FA, 1-0, the CVFA booters of coach Glen Ramos escaped past the Negros Oriental-Siquijor Regional Football Association (NOSIRFA), 2-1, last Monday.

Keenen Julian Cergeux broke the ice of the match for CVFA at the 28th minute but NOSIRFA’s Efren Insertado hit the equalizer at the 45th. 

Paul Joshua Mapula, however, found the back of the net at the 73rd minute to seal the deal for CVFA.

Kaya FC, on the other hand, coasted to its second straight victory at the expense of EVRA, 2-0.

Mauro Tan and Marco Lorenzo Perez delivered the goods for Kaya FC just three minutes apart from each other at the 85th and 88th minute, respectively. — EBV
