CVFA, Kaya FC eye second win in PFF U19 Visayas tourney

CEBU, Philippines —  Host Central Visayas Football Association (CVFA) shoots for its second straight win as it battles against the Negros Oriental-Siquijor FA in the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) Under 19 Boys National Championship Visayas leg today at the Cebu City Sports Center.

The CVFA booters will collide with NOSIRFA in the 8 a.m. opener.

CVFA of coach Glen Ramos opened their campaign with a 1-0 victory over East Visayas FA last Saturday.

Yoji Selma delivered the winning goal for CVFA at the 58th minute.

“We have a lot of chances but not converted. Overall, it was a good game for us,” said CVFA team manager Josephril Partosa.

In the main game at 3 p.m., Kaya FC-Iloilo also sets its sights on back-to-back wins as it takes on EVFA.

Kaya FC kicked off its title bid with a 2-1 cliffhanger over NOSIRFA.

If they are both victorious today, CVFA and Kaya FC will figure in a exciting match-up on Wednesday, June 22, for a lot to the PPF U19 National Championships later this year in Mindanao with no confirmed venue. — EBV
