CEBU, Philippines —  Three Pinoy boxers from Sanman Gym based in General Santos City will be seeing action in two separate cards in the United States on Saturday night (Sunday morning Phl time).

Super featherweight contender John Vincent Moralde (23-3, 13KOs) returns to the ring after a 10-month layoff as he battles tough Mexican Jose Enrique Vivas (19-1, 10KOs) in the undercard of the highly anticipated unification bout between WBO/WBA lightweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko and IBF titleholder Teofimo Lopez at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“I miss boxing and I can’t wait to fight again. I am happy to be given this privilege. I have never left the gym and training with coach Moro Fernandez  since the start of this pandemic. Having a good challenge in the person of Vivas even motivates me more to win impressively and make my countrymen happy,” said Moralde.

On the same day, Moralde’s Sanman stablemates in lightweight prospect Mark Bernaldez (20-4, 14KOs) and welterweight James Bacon (23-4, 15KOs) will also keep their hands busy against separate foes from Argentina in the Fight Night VIII card by M&R Promotions at the Manual Airtime Community Center Theater in Miami, Florida.

Bernaldez will slug it out with the rugged veteran Julian Evaristo “Chipita” Aristule (34-13, 17KOs) while Bacon will face Gonzalo Carlos Dallera (6-8, 4KOs).

“Bernaldez and Bacon have been training hard in Florida under the tutelage of Cuban trainer Moro Hernandez. Both fighters couldn’t contain their excitement as they both come out of hibernation due to the COVID pandemic,” said Sanman CEO Jim Claude “JC” Manangquil in a statement.

Bernaldez expressed his joy in being able to see action again. “I am so blessed to fight again. Many boxers badly want to fight but do not have the opportunity. I never stopped training here in Florida and am confident to bring another win. I always dedicate my fights for my country and for my team Sanman, M&R and Moro,” Bernaldez stated.

Bacon is just as ecstatic in having the chance to shine again. “ I will make sure I get another win to help my climb in the rankings and get bigger fights. Training under coach Moro has been a great benefit to my boxing skills. I am in the best shape and will try to show it come fight night,” Bacon said.
