Moralde faces Del Bosque in Vegas
CEBU, Philippines — Not one, but two Pinoy boxers will be seeing action behind closed doors in Las Vegas on July 16 (July 17 Phl time).
This after lightweight prospect John Vincent ‘Mulawin’ Moralde of General Santos City’s Sanman Gym has been added to the next sequel of Top Rank’s “Live Boxing is Back” series inside the Bubble at the MGM Grand.
Moralde (23-3, 13KOs) will face tough Mexican Alexis del Bosque (17-5, 9KOs), who is on a four-fight winning streak.
Moralde’s recent engagement ended in a KO victory against Matias Arriagada.
“We have similar records. This is a important fight in this stage of my career and I don’t want to spoil the chance. I want to bring home another win,” said the Davao-native Moralde.
“I have been grinding in the gym all these times and been staying ready. Thanks to my team for giving me this opportunity. I am so lucky to book a fight in the midst of this crisis,” Moralde added.
The fightcard is topbilled by Moralde’s fellow countryman Mark John ‘Journey Man’ Yap (30-15, 15KOs), who will battle three-time world title challenger Miguel ‘Scorpion’ Marriaga (29-3, 25KOs) of Colombia in a featherweight 10-rounder.
