Alfa Wanbatz bargesinto ABL semis

CEBU, Philippines — The Alfa Wanbatz clobbered the 99ers, 74-56, to secure an outright semifinal berth in the 1st Amicis Basketball League (ABL) season at the Consolacion Sports Complex.

Justin Reuyan dropped 24 points, eight assists and six rebounds while his cousin Clarence Reuyan tallied 23 markers on top of seven rebounds and six assists for Alfa Wanbatz, which will enjoy a twice-to-beat advantage in the Final 4 for being the No.2 seed in the 30-above category with a 5-2 win-loss record.

Erhuel Armean added 19 points, 11 rebounds, and four assists for Alfa Wanbatz, which used a fierce endgame attack to trounce the 99ers.

Ahead by just three after three quarters, 44-41, Alfa Wanbatz staged a devastating 35-15 rally in the final stretch to come up with an 18-point rout.

Rory Paspie dropped 27 points spiked with nine rebounds and six assists but to no avail as the 99ers fell to 3-4.

Games of the maiden ABL season backed up by North Sports Apparel, VDrink Malunggay Juice, Fihgter 50 Wine, and Consolacion LGU headed by mayor Joyjoy Alegado are under the supervision of commissioner Lee Mar Dahil assisted by technical committee chief Aurelio Eslawan.  EBV
