USPF spikers reign supreme in CESAFI beach volley

CEBU, Philippines — The University of Southern Philippines Foundation spikers showed their might as they bagged two championships in the 19th Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (CESAFI) beach volleyball tournament the other day at the Lapu-Lapu City sand courts.

The USPF boys completed a Grand Slam feat through the efforts of Jasper Judilla, Eugene Gloria and Saner Iverson Rizaga who defeated the University of San Jose-Recoletos boys, 21-19, 21-17.

Duplicating their boys’ success were the USPF men’s squad of Jason Kent Imperial, Dan Andrian Garnica, and Racky Rodriguez, who came out victorious,over the University of the Visayas in the finals, 21-19, 21-16.

Judilla and Imperial were both hailed as the Most Valuable Player in their respective classes.

Earlier, the University of Cebu collected two bronzes after settling third in the secondary boys against the University of San Carlos and against USJ-R in the men’s division.
