Accenture ousts Concentrix, returns to Elite Classic finals
CEBU, Philippines — The Accenture Sharks swept the Concentrix Converters in their best-of-three semifinal series via a 83-62 rout in Game 2 to advance to the Elite Classic finals for the second straight year in the Tanduay Athletics CSCC E-Leagues for Basketball Season 15 last Saturday at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.
The Sharks thus set up a grudge finals rematch with the defending champion Sykes Pioneers that is also a race-to-2 showdown starting on February 1.
In the EVO League, the Kyocera Frontiers and the Contact Solutions Flying Lemurs will slug it out for the coveted championship.
Just like their 71-57 triumph in the opener, the Sharks easily dismantled the Converters in Game 2. They never looked back after sprinting to a 24-12 start.
The Sharks further clobbered the Converters in the second quarter to blow up their lead to 40-21 at halftime. They never let their guards down the rest of the way to preserve a 19-point romp.
Edsun Tabar showed the way for the Sharks with 19 points, while Junas Misa and Miguel Calo connived for 25 markers.
Julian Suerte also made a significant contribution for the Sharks with nine points, in the same way with Aldene Batino, who nailed eight markers spiked with 10 rebounds, two assists and one steal.
Juan Sebial and Mark Bacho finished with 23 combined points in a losing effort for the Converters.
