Go shines in Malaysia
CEBU, Philippines — Young Cebuano karting sensation Wiliam Go had an impresssive debut in the junior division with a silver medal finish in the IAME Asia Cup 2020 at the Sepang International Kart Circuit in Malaysia over the weekend.
The win boosted Go’s confidence as he braces for a tougher challenge in the IAME Asia Series 2020 next month.
Go decided to test his skills in the higher division after winning the grandslam title in the mini-ROK division last year.
The 11 year-old Go had an impressive performance that not even a collision during the pre-finals did not hampered his mood for a podium.
Go finished the 16-lap action in 13:37.170, just a few seconds away junior division top bets Akshay Bohra of Singapore, who finished with a time of 13:34.740. Hongkong’s Gerrard Xie wound up third with 13:37.252.
The IAME Asia Series is set to start on February 22 to 23 at the Sentul Internationl Kart Circuit in Indonesia.
The said series will have a total of six rounds with the second and third leg set in Thailand while the last three legs will be in Malaysia.
