CYBL Summer League 2019 gets underway
CEBU, Philippines — The cast is set for the playoffs of the CYBL Summer League 2019; and the usual suspects are in the hunt for a championship anew.
In the Under 12 age group, the University of the Visayas is seeded into the semifinals as the top-ranked team, while SHS-Ateneo Lux Oriens and Don Bosco Technical College-Cebu face off in the semifinals to determine who goes to the finals.
Both UV and SHS-Ateneo drew automatic semifinals berths in the Under 15 age group as the top two teams at the end of the classification phase. USPF-A plays Don Bosco in one quarterfinals match-up, while SWU-PHINMA plays UV-B in the other.
The winners here move on to the semifinals to face the top two seeds. Meanwhile, in the Friendly Finale series, One on One plays SMS-Boystown while SHS-Magis plays Punta Princesa in their own Under 12 semifinals.
In the Under 15 Friendly Finale, Tayud goes up against AMICIS. The Under 18 age group will wrap up its games this weekend and start its playoffs next week.
The CYBL Summer League is the pre-season tournament of the Cebu Youth Basketball League and features 50 teams in three age groups: Under 12, 15 and 18.
