Region VII begins 4-peat campaign in PRISAA Meet

DAVAO CITY, Philippines — Central Visayas athletes begin their quest for a four-peat championship as 2019 Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA) National Games gets underway today at the University of Mindanao’s Matina campus here today.

Aside from the overall supremacy, Central Visayas also wants to defend all of their championships in different sporting events including in the tertiary basketball, men’s beach volley, football, chess, dancesport, swimming and weightlifting.

In the youth division, the region seeks to duplicate its winning formula in weightlifting and volleyball.

The University of the Visayas will be representing the region anew in the men’s basketball and men’s beach volley.

University of Cebu, University of San Carlos, University of Southern Philippines and Bohol Institute Technology will join forces for CV’s athletics team. The region’s swimming team is composed of UC and USC tankers

CV’s chess and karatedo team will be manned by University of San Jose Recoletos and UC as UV boxers will also try to deliver for the defending champions.

USC and USPF spikers will power the region in the youth, senior men’s and women’s volleyball.

Aside from the sporting events, Central Visayas athletes will also showcase their brain power and talents in the academic and cultural competitions. (FREEMAN)
