Cash-rich CEPCA monthly tourney set May 26
CEBU, Philippines — Over P20,000 in cash prize will be given away to the winners of the joint April and May editions of the Cebu Executives and Professionals Chess Association (CEPCA) monthly tournament on May 26 at the Barracks Chess Club in Robinsons Galleria Cebu.
“This is the grandest and biggest CEPCA monthly chess ever,” said CEPCA official Jun Olis. “This have been made possible because of our very dynamic and generous club president Engr. Jerry Maratas.”
The one-day tilt, however, is exclusive only to CEPCA members, kids (14 years old and below), and lady players.
The handicapping time control is three minutes for Class A, 10 minutes for Class B, and 15 minutes for Class C entries.
The champion will pocket P7,000, while the second to fifth placers will take home P5,000, P3,000, P2,000 and P1,000, respectively. The sixth to 10th will receive P500 each.
Registration fee is pegged at P100 for kiddies and ladies and P200 for Cepcans inclusive of snacks. - EBV
