Ex-CESAFI stars to spice up MSBC Season 5

The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — Some of Cebu’s former collegiate stars will once again take on each other via the Monday Squad Basketball-Cebu (MSBC) Season 5 set to get underway on March 4 at the Casals Village gym in Barangay Mabolo, Cebu City.

Before the hardcourt hostilities begin, there will be a Draft Night on February 25.

The Spartans led by team captain Brad Luke ‘Robocop’ Dablos return to defend their title.

They remain the strongest contender owing to the presence of former University of San Carlos (USC) Warriors varsity in Ian Ortega, Prince Vaughn Malana and Jax Bautista.

Out to challenge their reign are the Hard Court Kings, last year’s runner-up powered by three-time MSBC regular season MVP Randy de la Pisa, former SHS-Ateneo Magis Eagle Mark Anthony Ynoc, Larke Bacatan, Jared Nacasabog and Matt Oche.

The main highlight of this year’s edition of the annual cage wars is the bunch of erstwhile Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) standouts seeing action.

Among them are Archie Bryan Batua, Garexx Puerto and Kevin Quilantang of the University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters, JanJan Auditor of Southwestern University (SWU)-Phinma Cobras, and Michael Cantonao of the USC Warriors.

Registration is now going on. Those who are interested to join have only until February 24 to register.

For more details, one may contact league commissioner James Cabilino at 0906-4126709. EBV
