NAGCC Visayas leg kicks off at SM Seaside

CEBU, Philippines — Over a hundred pawnpushers from all over the region will test each other's mettle as the Visayas leg of the National Age Group Chess Championships 2019 fires off today at SM Seaside City.

The categories to be contested are the Under 8, Under 10, Under 12, Under 14, Under 16, Under 18 and Under 16. There will be separate events for open and girls.

Players who are entitled to join shall not have reached their respective age before January 1, 2019.

Aside from tickets to the national finals, cash prizes will also be given away to the top three winners. The champion will pocket P3,000 while the second and third will receive P2,000 and P1,500, respectively. The fourth and fifth will get P500 each.

Those who will make it to the top 10 will receive medals. (FREEMAN)
