Age Group chessfest to open new season for Cebu sports
CEBU, Philippines — The new year for Cebu sports will take off with the Visayas leg of the National Age Group Chess Championships 2019 set on January 3-5 at SM Seaside City.
A total of 14 categories will be contest. These are the Under 8, Under 10, Under 12, Under 14, Under 16, Under 18 and Under 16 with separate events for open and girls.
Players entitled to participate shall not have reached their respective age before January 1, 2019.
Aside from slots to the national finals, cash prizes will also be handed out to the top three finishers. The champion will take home P3,000 while the second and third will pocket P2,000 and P1,500, respectively. The fourth and fifth will get a consolation of P500 each.
Those who will make it to the top 10 will receive medals.
Registration fee is pegged at P600.
