3rd Duke Harris chessfest set January 6
CEBU, Philippines — It's all systems go for the 3rd Harvey "Duke" Harris III Chess Tournament on January 6 at the Barracks Chess Club in Robinsons Galleria Cebu.
The handicapping, 7-round Swiss system competition is open to Class A and Class B players.
Class A participants, however, will be given a time control of only seven minutes, while Class B will have 15 minutes.
The champion in the one-day tilt organized by Grandmaster candidate Kim Steven Yap will pocket P5,000, while the second and third will take home P3,000 and P1,000, respectively.
The fourth to 10th will get a consolation prize of P500 each. The top kiddies and female players will also receive P500 apiece.
Registration fee is pegged at P100 for kiddies and ladies and P200 for regular players.
