Tabura-Bohol tandem shines in Dagitab netfest
CEBU, Philippines — Fritz Tabura and Johnny Bohol, two of Pardo’s most established tennis players, showed flashes of brilliance during their prime on the way to rule the 60’s division of the City of Naga-Dagitab Festival Legends Men’s Doubles the other night.
Tabura and Bohol proceeded to the semifinals right away after enjoying a bye in the preliminary round.
In the semis, Tabura, a multi-titled coach, and Bohol, a tennis trainor who once campaigned abroad as a player, easily dispatched Dodong Ruelan and Rudy Curay, 8-3.
In the championship match, Tabura and Bohol literally had to pass through the wringer before fending off Col. July Agusto and Berm Parawan by the slimmest of margins, 8-7 (7-1).
On the other hand, Naga’s pride Eric Longakit and Jonathan Largo snared the 40’s division crown, while Eduardo Parangan and Roel Canillo bagged the 50’s division title.
