Dealagdon rules 1st Daniel Kagid Triathlon
CEBU, Philippines — Garry Dealagdon emerged as champion in the first ever Daniel Kagid Triathlon Race organized by the Cebu United Cycling Club (CUCC) the other day held at the Borromeo Beach Resort in Barangay Pooc, Talisay City.
Dealagdon finished the 400-meter swim, 25-kilometer bike and 3K run race in one hour 33 minutes and 51 seconds to rule the full individual category. Gilbert Yncierto settled for second place with a time of 1:47:13, while Joel Alcosero came in third with a 1:50:06 clocking.
Carlo Balbarino (1:54:09) and Ralph Omega (1:59:08) took the fourth and fifth spots.
Team Triad's Junrel Cacho (swim), John Rustia (bike) and Glee Marie Largo (run) lorded it over the relay competition with a time of one hour, 26 minutes and 34 seconds.
Kervin Cañete, Patrik Cañete, and Feddie Guanzon of Team Mercy in Action came in second with 1:28:35 followed by Team Kalit composed of Amis Urgel, Dondon Romales and Jhun Duterte in 1:29:44.
Rounding up the fourth to fifth place were Team Labangon's Reese Navarro, Neil Kevin Guillene and Enrico Esdrelon (1:31:55) and Team CUCC's Bencynt Luague, Raymond Villacorta and Jojo Espadilla (1:32:36).
Meanwhile, Abs Cinco, Gary Dealagdon, Martin Tambien, Danilo Tariman and Joel Alcosero were awarded by CUCC as the Top Five Most Outstanding Riders of the Year.
