USPF stays perfect in CESAFI beach volley
CEBU, Philippines — Defending champion University of Southern Philippines Foundation scored a dominating two-setter over Don Bosco Technology College to stay perfect in the boys division of the 18th Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (CESAFI) beach volleyball tournament yesterday at the Fort San Pedro’s sand court in Plaza Independencia.
USPF pounced DBTC, 21-9, 23-21 to grab the top spot in the boys class with an immaculate 3-0 standing.
Meanwhile, University of San Carlos clinched its third win in four games at the expense of the University of Cebu, 21-17, 21-18.
The Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu outlasted Cebu Institute of Technology-University, 21-18, 21-12 to enter the win column.
In the lone girls action, Southwestern University-Phinma blasted UC belles in straight sets, 21-15, 21-13.
Meanwhile, the defending women's champion SWU-Phinma splits its two games with a win over CIT-U, 21-8, 21-11, but faltered in the hands of USC, 18-21, 22-20, 15-10.
It was bounced back victory for USC after it fell short in their game against USPF, 21-15, 18-21, 15-9.
USPF, on the other hand, won all its assignments after they dispatched UC in the last game, 21-9, 21-9.
