USJ-R booters shock SHS-AdC in Aboitiz football
CEBU, Philippines — The University of Jose Recoletos scored a huge win in the boys 18 division of the 20th Aboitiz Football Cup after upending the more favored Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu, 3-2, at the SHS-Ateneo field in Barangay Canduman, Mandaue City.
The USJ-R booters succesfully bounced back after falling in the hands of University of San Carlos earlier.
SHS-Ateneo saw their two-game win streak come to an end. Before their match against USJ-R, SHS-Ateneo boys pounced Don Bosco Technology College, 2-0.
In another game, DBTC Team 2 also faltered against Abellana National School Pomeroy, 4-2.
Meanwhile, Guardians Strikers claimed the girls 15 bronze medal with a 4-2 win over St. Theresa's College at the DBTC field in Barangay Punta Princesa, Cebu City.
