Glorietta Lariosa - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — The Southwestern University (SWU)-Phinma and the University of San Carlos (USC) go for title clincher but they must brace for a daring figthback from their rivals in Game 2 of the best-of-three collegiate volleyball finals of the 18th Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) season today at the University of Southern Philippines Foundation gym in Barangay Lahug, Cebu City.

In the men's division, Southwestern U guns for a sweep when it battles the University of the Visayas (UV) at 1:30 pm.

The Spiking Cobras moved a win away from clinching back-to-back championships after downing UV, 26-24, 26-24, 25-21, in the series opener last November 18.

Likewise, USC aims to finish off the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) in their 3:30 p.m. duel for the women's crown.

The Carolinians stepped on the threshold of reclaiming their crown after edging USJ-R, 25-22, 14-25, 25-18, 25-19 in Game 1 of their own race-to-2 series.

Game 3, if needed, is scheduled on Sunday at the same venue.
