Dreamscape Lions make E-Leagues history

CEBU, Philippines — The Dreamscape Networks Lions rolled past the Contact Solutions Flying Lemurs, 65-56, to break the record for the longest winning streak in the EVO League of the Tanduay Athletics E-Leagues for Basketball Season 14 over the weekend at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.

In streching their unbeaten run to 12-0, the Lions smashed the 11-0 start of the Supportsave (now Fusion BPO Services) Dragons in 2016.

Ralph Belarmino led Dreamscape's record-establishing triumph with 22 points, 13 rebounds, six steals and four assists. Joseph Lin Arong also figured prominently with 14 points, 10 boards, seven blocks, and two assists as well as John Louie Arriesgado with 14 points for the Lions.

Roberto Castro Jr. and Jerard De la Cerna connived for 29 points for the Flying Lemurs, who dropped to 7-3.

In the other EVO League match, Jade Seno scattered 23 points,  Jhade Lawas and John Lee Cadampog had a combined total of 26 points as the Results Manila Spartans zapped the Cognizant Tech Solutions Gladiators, 76-69, for their fourth straight win and ninth overall in 13 games.

In the Elite Classic, Niño Belande chalked up his third triple-double of the season with 23 points, 14 rebounds and 13 steals as the Dragons walloped the QBE Generals, 95-85, for their fifth victory in 14 matches, while Robert Gilo came through with 19 points, 21 rebounds, four assists and two steals as the ePerformax Reds downed the listless Telstra-Teletech Boomerangs, 77-74, to raise their record to 6-8. - EBV
