DTCC gears up for National Dancesport Championships

CEBU, Philippines — After their recent success in the 2018 WDSF Cebu Open and 10th Dancesport sa Sugbu, the Dancesport Team Cebu City athletes set their sights in the 2018 Dancesport Council of the Philippines Inc. National Dancesport Championships on October 13 at the Valle Verde Country Club in Pasig City.

Cebu City Sports Commission chairman Ed Hayco said that Team Cebu City will count on its tried and tested members as they vie for top honors in the country's biggest dancesport event.

"Our training continues because we are focused in the upcoming national championship," said Hayco.

Cebu City will be fielding at least 18 couples to compete this year. These athletes have recently competed in the 2018 WDSF Cebu Open and 10th DanceSport sa Sugbu last September 8 at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.

Meanwhile, Hayco is happy with the successful staging of the WSDF Open, participated by top local and elite international athletes including world ranked No.2 Timur Imametdinov and Nina Bezzubova of Germany.

"Every year we make sure to make it bigger and bigger and we would like to invite more international participants," said Hayco. (FREEMAN)
