Decorated Cebuana gymnast to make international debut

CEBU, Philippines - Multi-titled Cebuana gymnast Daniela Reggie de la Pisa brings her act on foreign shores for the first time via the Singapore Open this weekend.

Aside from the Singaporeans, De la Pisa is expected to face tough challenge from a bunch of gymnasts from Indonesia, New Zealand, Hong Kong and Thailand.

For her first competition abroad, De la Pisa trained for several days in Manila under a Bulgarian coach.

In Singapore though, she will be coached by her mother Darlene.

After Singapore, the young De la Pisa will also compete in the 5th Zhongling Cup in Beijing, China together with fellow Cebuana Kim Paler, who is a member of the national team. (FREEMAN)
